Goodbyes are not forever
Goodbyes are not the end
They simply mean I’ll miss you
Until we meet again!

This is Goodbye
This is Goodbye
Corny poems aside, I’m very sad to say that this
will be my final blog post.
When I was first asked to write a monthly
newsletter, I was a bit anxious for my writing to be seen by so many eyes.
However, as it turns out, I have had an absolute blast spouting my geeky humor
for all of these years (even if I’m the only one who gets many of the jokes...).
I’m truly hopeful that someone else will carry the torch in the future.
It has been nearly 7 years since I took a chance
and sent my resume to “some makeup company in Great Barrington”. I had no idea
what I was in for: seven years of tremendous growth and, dare I say, 7 years of
fun! I had just turned 21 when I started back in 2009 which means I have spent most
of my adult life here at IMC. Over the years, I have met a lot of really great
people, learned more than I ever anticipated and powered through plenty of interesting
challenges.
I quickly learned that working at IMC is much
more than a job; for me it has been driving 45 minutes through the beautiful Berkshires
every day to spend 8 hours with my second family. I can’t tell you how many
times my friends and family have been astonished by the stories I tell of the
fun we have here at IMC. That comradery will not be easily replaced.
Sadly, It’s time for me to move on to bigger
(read: much more difficult) things. My
new journey will be an incredible learning experience and that’s just what I
need at this stage of my life. I’ll get to practice all of the concepts that I’ve
been studying every day on my lunch breaks for the last three years (sorry for
never sitting with you guys at lunch!). It’s definitely time to further “the
grind”.
I have received an overwhelming amount of
emails, calls and in-person farewells over the last couple of weeks. I always knew
that everyone thinks I’m super cool,
but golly gee, I still didn’t expect so many thoughtful gestures. (See what I
did there? Nothing is cooler than
saying, “golly gee”.)
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my
heart for all of your kind words and encouragement. I was honestly overwhelmed
by the love - it almost made me cry… almost
because I’m manly and rugged…
I
digress. As a token of my gratitude to you all, please enjoy one final parting
gift:
Have
a great life, everyone!
-Keith

don’t shoot me an email if you have something that you think will make a good
tip. You’ll just get a bounce message and no
one will see it! High-five!
