The best part of the year is beginning
in the Shire. The sun is warm and the mountains are green.

Table
of Contents Overhaul
As time ticks by, I realize more
and more how difficult it is to navigate the Table of Contents page. The brief descriptions
can be confusing; I don’t think many people understand the terminology on the
page.
As usual, I have come up with a
better way (at least I think I have – go me)!!
Thank god. Your Table of Contents page was garbage.
Sheesh. Why don’t you tell me
how you really feel?
I have redesigned the table of
contents to be much more verbose. The list of simple (and ambiguous) descriptions
have been replaced with an assortment of relatable questions. The main IT Tips page
can now be referred to as the IMC IT Tips Frequently Asked Questions page (FAQ
for short)!
That’s right, when you navigate to
http://Iredaleittips.blogspot.com
you will be presented with the shiny new FAQ page.
Awesome, how does it work?!
The FAQ page is simply a list of
frequently asked questions. The questions are hyperlinked and will take you to
a related blog post with a simple click of the mouse.
For example:
“CRM Outlook Client (Set
Regarding)” on the Table of Contents page has been replaced with “Where did my
set regarding buttons go?” on the FAQ page.
Where applicable, I have also
created multiple questions for the same topic. This is very useful because not
everyone asks the same question for the same problem. For instance, you will also
notice this related question on the FAQ page: “Where did my CRM buttons go?”
This will point to the same IT Tip about the CRM Outlook Client.
Here is an image of the FAQ page:
Tell me more, magic man!
Don’t mind if I do!
I have also kept the Table of Contents page intact for those
of you who did find it useful (not everyone
thinks is garbage!). I even added a link to the top-right of each page which
will allow you to toggle back and forth between them.
You can also get back to the FAQ page at any time by clicking on "IT Tips of the Month" at the top of the blog.
Best of all, I will be updating each page as future tips roll out! I hope this makes your lives a bit easier.
Have a great month, everyone!
